R10 GARCIPOLLERA PROFUNDA
MTB route through the Garcipollera valley that starts at the beginning of the Iguacel track, very close to Villanovilla.
From there, the route starts to climb along a well-maintained and gradually sloping track towards the Iguacel Chapel. Just one kilometre before reaching the chapel, you cross the river Ijuez to climb for several kilometres along the Villanúa – Castiello track to the fork of the GR-15.
You take this downhill path, with quite a few bends and somewhat technical, to reach the Iguacel Chapel, a place of pilgrimage and a Benedictine monastery where you have to take a break to admire this marvellous spot at the bottom of the Garcipollera valley.
You turn back on your tracks for a few metres to take the Larrosa track. This is a track with many zigzags and a more-or-less gradual slope that takes you the pass that separates the Acumuer valley and the Garcipollera valley, where you can enjoy magnificent high mountain views.
From the pass, the track descends a few metres and, on the right, you will find the PR that descends steeply to the abandoned village of Larrosa. You come to the end of the track at a leafy ravine that nearly always carries water, cross it and climb up the path to this abandoned village. You then continue the route along the old path that connected this village with the Aragón valley towards Villanovilla and finish the route by returning along the Iguacel track to the starting point
