R04 TRAIL AROUND MOUNT ASIESO AND MOUNT ALERO

Circular route that leaves from Jaca in a northerly direction and arrives by track to the surroundings of the Grosín peak. From the high part of the Grosín forest, with beautiful views towards Peña Oroel, San Juan de la Peña and the Canal de Berdún, the first descent starts along an old, rather rocky path that will take you to the Castetillo ravine, in the vicinity of Caniás.

The second climb, along a path to the foot of Mount Alero, is quite a challenge and will probably make you put your feet to the ground. You will get your breath back during the second descent on a not too technical path to Guasillo.

It is a rather short but demanding route. The downhill trails are not very technical but a bit rocky, so even the most enduro-loving riders will enjoy this route.

This route also takes you, via an up and down path, to the top of the Jaca hydroelectric power station, from where you start the last, very short but entertaining descent to the banks of the River Aragón.
